Velvet Lou (Hopkins) Owens

Velvet was a faithful, willing, devoted mother, she believed in God no matter what the situation was. Velvet believed in helping others (cooking for them) and putting God first in her life.  Velvet had an infectious personality and also enjoyed playing spades, fishing and spending time with her family.  Velvet is preceded in death by her husband Daral Owens; Parents Andrew and Berdie Hopkins.  2 Sisters Rosa Belle Brown and Sheryle Ann Brown.

She touched the hearts of many and will be missed.  She leaves her memories to be cherished by her loving Children: Jenna Scrivens Davis, Tiffiany Scrivens, Philip Hopkins, LaMark Hopkins (Jill), Lakeata Lee, George Hopkins.  Like-a-daughter (special caregiver) Tiffany Williams.  Brother; Gary Hopkins (Dorothy).  8 grandchildren; Talyria Preston, Reginald McFadden, Adrioun McFadden, Trae Hopkins, Miricale Scrivens, Kristian Lee, Dezman, Flannagan, London Flannagan.  5 Aunts; Romie Lee Kincaid, Mamie McRae (Wallace), Nellie Nathan, Shirley Blake, Ivory Davis (John).  A host of cousins, nieces and nephews and other special family and friends.
