Thomas Days, Sr.

Mr. Thomas Days, Sr., the last-born of (8) children, was born August 3, 1935 to the Late Toney & Myra Days in Raleigh, Florida.  He was preceded in death by six sisters:  Arizona Waters, Alene Hagins, Annette Miller, Luella Terry, Loretta Green, Lillie Mae Days and one brother, Toney Days, Jr. 

Mr. Thomas Days accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very young age at New Zion A.M.E. Church in Raleigh, FL, where he remained a faithful Stewart until his eternal transition on December 22, 2022.  He attended school in Williston, Florida until he had to stop his education in order to work to help his mom & dad support the family.  Later, during his adult life of employment, he worked many years for V.E. Whitehurst & Sons, Inc., in Raleigh, Florida until he joined Maddox Foundry in Archer, Florida, where he would eventually retire at age 62.

On February 10, 1957, Mr. Thomas Days was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Delories McCray Days and to this union they would add 10 beautiful children; one son, Benjamin “BJ” McCray preceded him in death.

Mr. Thomas Days leaves to cherish his love, life and legacy in the hearts of his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Delories days; 1 Brother, Ernest Days, Clearwater, FL; nine (9) children:  Rev. Elizabeth Carnegie (Aljoseph), Min. Teresa Osoba (Pastor Babajide), Pastor Ronald Days, Sr. (Joyce), Debra Teerlink (Byron), Bebra Battles, Kimberly Monroe, Jacqueline Days, Frederick Days, Sr., and Eugene Days, Sr. (31) grandchildren: Daphina Williams (Alphonso), Chassica Griffin (Rock), Al Carnegie, Jr., Omoniyi Obioha (Quincy), Folakemi Okeowo (Temidire), Dr. Benjamin Osoba, Terrise Sharp, Ronald Days, Jr. (Anika), Tameka Porter (Javon), Courtney Days (Shelby), Adrian Days, Corey Days, Michael Hill, Laquisha Hill, Swanzetta Johnson (Stevon), Brennon Battles, Jr. (Tiesha), Stephanie Battles, LaToya Days, Eugene Days, Jr., Terrell Sherman, Teisha Davis, Keyosha Monroe, Takalia Monroe, Takara Hayes, Desiree Days, Frederick Days, Jr. (Nisma), Theophilus Lee, Jr., Brandon Preston, Mikaya Franklin, Shawann Dallas, Zariah Smith; (53) Great-Grandchildren, (31) Great-Great Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Great grandchildren and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and sorrowing friends.

Services are under the direction of Carnegie Funeral Home (Chiefland, Florida) and D Williams Mortuary Services (Gainesville. Florida).
