Ronald Coleman Clark, Sr., affectionately known as “Papa D,” was born in 1945, in Williston, Florida, to the late Willie and Beatrice Clark. He grew up in Williston, where he graduated from Williston Vocational School as a proud member of the Class of 1964. A hardworking and skilled craftsman, Ron dedicated over sixty years to his trade as a master cement finisher. His expertise and dedication to his craft were unmatched. He also had a true passion for landscaping—taking great pride in maintaining a well-manicured lawn, as he “didn’t play about his grass.” Beyond his work, Ron was well known for his deep love of the Florida Gators and sports in general. He was an exceptional cook and a grill master, always ready to share his opinions on the best way to prepare a meal. His talent for BBQ and cooking brought family and friends together, and his outspoken nature ensured that everyone knew exactly how things should be done. A man of style, Ron was always well-dressed and carried himself with pride. His attention to detail in both his appearance and his work reflected the disciplined and passionate man he was. On March 13, 2025, Ronald Clark, Sr. was called home, leaving behind a host of loving family members and cherished friends. While he may no longer walk among us, his legacy of hard work, love for family, and passion for life will forever be remembered. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories of all who had the honor of knowing him.
