Rhea Smith Obituary

The family of Rhea Lynese Smith would like to announce her passing. Rhea passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 11, 2021. Rhea Lynese Smith was born on January 16, 1991 in Livingston, NJ to parents Everton and Winsome Jackson. In 1998 the family moved to Florida living in Pembroke Pines then Lakeland where Rhea grew up with her two younger siblings Andre and Denzell Jackson. In 2015 Rhea graduated from University of Florida and then went on to achieve her BS in Nursing in 2020 from Rasmussen College. In May 2017 Rhea married Bokeem Smith, her "BoBo", and they relocated to North Carolina as Bo was stationed at Camp Lejeune as a medic in the Navy. Rhea worked briefly as a registered nurse developing respiratory complications. Rhea's last job was working from home as a registered with NYU and was pursuing her MS degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University with intent to become a nurse practitioner.

Rhea loved family dearly. Rhea enjoyed spending time and planning numerous events and trips with them. Rhea held close relationships with her family and in-laws. Rhea had a special relationship with her mother-n-law Viola Anderson who loved her unconditionally and treated Rhea as her own daughter. Rhea also had an exceptionally close relationship with her cousins Ashli Smith and Monete Cockburn. Rhea did not have any children of her own but she poured her attention and love into her nephews.

Rhea enjoyed journaling, reading, and binge watching scary movies and shows. Rhea was driven and goal oriented, well on her way to achieving her 2021 goals before her passing. A goal Rhea was especially passionate about putting together a scholarship fund for needy students at her former high school, George Jenkins.

Rhea lived and loved freely, always bringing warmth and a smile to everyone she came in contact with. Although Rhea will be missed by many, the countless, wonderful memories we all shared with her will always be treasured and source of comfort for all.

*******The Smith family would like to invite family and friends to join them as they continue to Celebrate their blessing Rhea Smith immediately after the Heavenly Journey Celebration at Lake Crago Outdoor Recreation Complex (525 Lake Crago Dr. Lakeland, Florida 33805)
