Cynthia Ellis was born on November 17th, 1955. She was the first born to late James Ellis and Betty Rush. Being raised in Fairbanks, she went on to Lincoln High which was integrated in 1967 where she became a graduate of Gainesville High School class of 1973. She worked at the Oaks Health & Rehab for 19 years; after leaving she then worked at the Arc of Alachua County for 15 years as well as Alternative Care LLC for 9 years before retiring. In 2005, she joined Visionaries Church of God in Christ where she became an ordained Missionary under the leadership of Pastor Jesse B. Brown. She had a love for baking and was very passionate in her faith & love for Jesus Christ. Proceeded in death by her father James Ellis, Mother Betty Rush, Brother Milton Ellis, Sgt. Ronnie Ellis. She leaves precious memories of her children Kenneth Ivey of Gainesville, FL, Keneka Ellis-Porter (& Larry Porter) of Archer, FL; grandchildren Lyric Ivey, Isaac James, Ieshia Ellis, Ivy Porter, Isaiah Porter, Latrell Porter; sister Kimland Hardy (& Derrie Hardy) of Tampa, FL, sister Jacqueline Gibson (& James Gibson) of Los Angeles, CA, sister Yolanda Rush-Sanders (& Zana) of Atlanta, GA, brother Michael Rush of Gainesville, FL; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
