Chester Foster Player was a graduate of the Lincoln High School Class of 1959. He also attended Bethune Cookman College.
Chester was one of the Gainesville four who initiated the civil rights movement which resulted in the integration of the movie theaters and restaurants in the city.
He was an avid Florida gator fan who loved gator football and basketball.
He was preceded in death by son, Baron Player.
He is survived by two sons Dimitri and Romney Player, a devoted brother Denifield Player (Bettye), six grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
